Mint Chocolate Cookies…Brings Back So Many Memories

“The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.”
– Juliette Gordon Low, Founder Girl Scouts

What did you do in elementary school? Way back when? Me – for a very short time I wore a brownie uniform and sold those awesome cookies. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered that all the really cool people did too. Let’s just say that some of those cool people are Taylor Swift, cool, hip, successful song writer, singer and business woman, Sandra Day O’Conner, retired associate justice of the Supreme Court, Lucille Ball, comedic redhead and successful business woman, Mae Jemison, first African American woman to travel in space, and Sally Ride, astronaut.

Honor, perseverance, intelligence, inspirational and those are just the words that come off of the top of my head.

So what would I want for a granddaughter? (Yup – I’m of that age). I would want her to join the ranks of independent women, trusting women, compassionate women, honorable women, persevering women, all those who have come before and all those who are now, Girl Scouts of America.

Seriously, I had no idea but at this tender age of my elder years, I have come to realize that there is no better role model than a young girl going for the gold of her Girl Scout medal.

And with that I ask you to join me in my podcast with Mary Barneby, CEO Girl Scouts of Connecticut.  There’s so much more to Girl Scouts than just the delicious cookies!
