A year ago we aired a conversation with Harriet Shugarman about the climate crisis and children. The COP26 climate conference has just taken place. What better time re-air this episode?  Known as ‘ClimateMama’ Harriet spoke about children and the crisis.

The climate crisis is a subject that is important for children to know about. Children need to be told the truth. But how do we talk to children about this crisis without frightening them? A sought after speaker about climate change and children, Harriet Sugarman is the author of How to Talk to Your Kids About Climate Change: Turning Angst into Action. The book was described by the American Library Association as ‘a pointedly apolitical title aimed at easing the climate change conversation between parents and children.’

Harriet Sugarman is the Founder and Executive Director of ‘ClimateMama‘. Founded in 2009, ClimateMama is an on-line community reaching individuals in over 110 countries and 50 states. Harriet is a professor of Global Climate Change Policy and World Sustainability and Chair of the Climate Reality Project, NYC Metro Chapter.
