A bra is a very personal item. And the right fit can make all the difference. So how do we demystify the experience of finding the right fit? I turned to the ‘Bra Guru’ Jené Luciani. Yes, the ‘Bra Guru’, author of The Bra Book: An Intimate Guide to Finding the Right Bra, Shapewear, Swimsuit, and More! Jené’s own experience as a teenager and a secret that she had kept to herself led her on this lifelong journey.
In addition to ’The Bra Book’, Jené is the author of Gigi Gets a Bra and co-author of Get It! A Beauty, Style and Wellness Guide to Getting Your “It” Together. In addition to being a bestselling author, Jené has been a lifestyle expert on NBC’s Today, The Dr. Oz Show, The Wendy Williams Show and many others. She is also a contributing fashion editor for HERLIFE New York Magazine.
A communications graduate of SUNY Cortland, Jené became a full-time producer for WNYT NewsChannel13, the Albany, New York NBC affiliate. Moving to Westchester, NY, her path led her to writing a fashion column for WAG, a local magazine. At the same time Jené freelanced for the same production company, producing segments with, among others, Paula Abdul. And so began the idea for her first book and becoming a spokesperson.
Jené and her husband, Patrick, a firefighter, live in Schenectady, New York.Their blended family consists of four children, two dogs, and a cat. A very hectic life that Jené thoroughly enjoys.
She recently teamed up with the Salvation Army in Schenectady, where Jené and her family live, and Hudson, her hometown. Jené got a bra company to donate 60 bras and gave fittings to women in need.
